Tynor Orthotics Launches Rs. 300-Crore Textile Facility in Mohali, Paving Way for Self-Reliance and Job Creation

In a significant development for Punjab’s industrial and healthcare manufacturing sectors, Tynor Orthotics has launched a state-of-the-art textile production facility, Ortech Textiles, in Mohali. Inaugurated by Punjab Industries Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, the Rs. 300-crore unit spans six acres and will cater exclusively to Tynor’s internal raw material needs. The initiative is poised to drastically reduce dependence on imports—particularly from China—and generate employment for up to 1,000 people. This milestone aligns with Punjab’s broader industrial reform agenda and signals a major leap toward self-reliant healthcare manufacturing in India.

Strategic Launch to Boost Industrial Self-Reliance

The inauguration of Ortech Textiles represents a calculated move by Tynor Orthotics to secure its supply chain and strengthen its operational independence. Positioned within the healthcare and orthopaedic segment, the unit aims to domestically produce the high-quality textile inputs essential for Tynor’s extensive line of orthopaedic supports and aids.

Managing Director Dr. P. J. Singh emphasized that the facility is a cornerstone in reducing reliance on imported raw materials—particularly those sourced from China—thereby insulating the company from external market disruptions and volatile supply conditions.

Economic Impact and Job Creation

The launch is not only a step toward vertical integration but also a driver of economic development within the region. According to Executive Director A. J. Singh, Ortech Textiles is expected to create 1,000 direct jobs, contributing significantly to Tynor Group’s broader vision of expanding its workforce from 2,500 to 5,000 employees.

This job creation is especially timely, aligning with government efforts to stimulate manufacturing-driven employment in Punjab and enhance opportunities for local talent in the textile and healthcare manufacturing sectors.

Government Backing and Industrial Reforms

Punjab’s Industries, IT, and Labour Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond underscored the state’s commitment to catalyzing industrial growth through policy innovation. Speaking at the inauguration, Sond highlighted reforms such as the Invest Punjab fast-track portal, which guarantees industrial approvals within 45 days—a measure aimed at cutting bureaucratic delays and encouraging private sector investment.

Sond commended Tynor Group for its vision and alignment with the state’s objectives of attracting capital-intensive, employment-generating ventures. His remarks reflect the administration’s prioritization of infrastructure, technology adoption, and investor-friendly governance.

Vision for a Self-Reliant India

Ortech Textiles is emblematic of a broader national push for self-sufficiency in key industrial domains, especially those involving medical technology and essential health infrastructure. By localizing its entire value chain—from design to textile manufacturing—Tynor is setting a precedent for other Indian healthcare firms to follow.

The facility further supports the objectives of initiatives like Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, both of which aim to foster indigenous manufacturing capabilities and reduce the country's reliance on imports in critical sectors.

Conclusion: A Model for Industry-Led Growth

With Ortech Textiles, Tynor Orthotics is not merely expanding its manufacturing footprint—it is strategically fortifying its market position while contributing to regional employment and economic self-reliance. Supported by proactive government policies and a favorable investment climate, the project illustrates how private enterprises and public governance can coalesce to deliver long-term value. This development positions Punjab as a growing hub for healthcare manufacturing and industrial innovation in India.
