The facility will leverage advanced infrastructure to deliver high-performance computing, data storage, and AI-driven solutions for enterprises, startups, and research institutions. This partnership aligns with India’s vision to become a digital powerhouse while attracting foreign investment and fostering technological innovation.

Pharmaceutical major Lupin Limited has announced a strategic expansion of its Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) operations through the establishment of a state-of-the-art oncology block at its Visakhapatnam facility. The move underscores the company’s ambition to enhance its global presence in specialty manufacturing and meet the rising demand for complex cancer therapies.

In a significant boost to India's growing digital economy, Cognizant Technology Solutions is set to invest over ₹1,500 crore in a new technology campus at Kapuluppada IT Hills in Visakhapatnam. The initiative, announced by Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh, is expected to generate approximately 8,000 jobs over three phases. The American IT giant will begin operations from a temporary facility in early 2026, ahead of the completion of Phase I of its permanent campus by early 2029.

The 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is set to take place from September 30 to November 2, 2025, marking the return of the tournament to India after 12 years. Co-hosted with Sri Lanka, the event will feature eight teams competing across five venues. Australia enters as the defending champion, having secured their seventh title in 2022. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, leading to knockout stages, with the final scheduled for November 2. Notably, due to geopolitical tensions, Pakistan will play all its matches in Colombo, Sri Lanka .

A Nepalese delegation visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) to explore new routes for importing fertilizers such as urea and DAP (di-ammonium phosphate). The delegation, led by Govind Prasad Sharma, Secretary of Nepal's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, discussed strategies to enhance fertilizer imports via global tenders, with the aim of boosting cargo traffic by at least 2 lakh tonnes. This potential collaboration also involves discussions on an Indo-Nepal treaty to facilitate the smooth movement of goods between India and Nepal.
