At the heart of this initiative is an inclusive financing structure that allows consumers to install a solar rooftop system with a minimal initial investment—beginning at just Rs. 2,499 for a 1 kW installation. To make the transition to solar even more compelling, the initiative is underpinned by significant government incentives. The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana provides subsidies of up to Rs. 78,000 for installations up to 3 kW, covering nearly 40% of total system costs. Further enhancing the affordability, the Odisha state government offers additional subsidies—Rs. 25,000 for 1 kW systems and Rs. 50,000 for 2 kW setups.
