The event reflects India’s expanding influence in London’s tech landscape and the mutual benefits of bilateral collaboration.
Largest Indian Tech Delegation Amplifies India-UK Partnership
London Tech Week 2025 witnessed a record influx of over 350 Indian technology companies, making it the most substantial delegation from India to date. The diverse roster includes high-growth startups and established players such as The Black Box, Digi Osmosis, Bahwan CyberTek, Arya.ai, Mphasis, Helios Batteries, Fynd, Hyperready, MoneyHOP, and Siam Computing, among others.
The event's growing Indian representation reflects the deepening ties between the two nations' tech sectors, especially following the landmark India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). London’s Mayor’s office lauded the surge as a testament to the evolving partnership and London’s status as a magnet for Indian innovators and investors seeking global scale.
UK Government Champions AI and Digital Skills
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer leveraged London Tech Week to announce “Extract,” a government-backed AI assistant designed to modernize the planning process for local councils. Developed with Google’s support, this tool aims to accelerate infrastructure development and housing projects by simplifying bureaucratic workflows.
Starmer emphasized the initiative as part of a broader “Plan for Change” to build 1.5 million new homes and reform the planning system for the 21st century. Additionally, the UK government unveiled a GBP 187 million “TechFirst” programme, aimed at infusing digital and AI skills into schools and communities, preparing a diverse workforce for future tech careers.

Sustained Growth of Indian Tech Investment in London
India has emerged as the largest foreign investor in London over the past three years, with Indian companies playing a pivotal role in the capital’s economic expansion. Data from London & Partners reveals the establishment of 31 new Indian firms in 2023, followed by 23 in 2024, with an additional nine companies registered in the first two months of the current fiscal year alone.
Noteworthy developments include fintech giant Paytm’s plans to invest in the UK to enhance digital payments and credit access for small businesses.
