Tata Steel’s Kalinganagar plant completes ten years, marking a decade of technological advancement, industrial expansion, and socio-economic impact in one of India’s fastest-growing manufacturing corridors. Established to enhance India’s production capabilities in flat steel products, the plant has evolved into a benchmark for automated operations, sustainable manufacturing, and inclusive community development. Over the past decade, Kalinganagar has significantly strengthened Tata Steel’s capacity, improved supply-chain efficiency, and generated meaningful employment across the region.

Tata Steel has successfully concluded the second phase of its ambitious expansion at the Kalinganagar plant in Odisha, elevating its capacity from 3 million tonnes to 8 million tonnes annually. The Rs 27,000 crore investment forms part of Tata Steel’s broader strategy to expand its domestic footprint, raising its total Indian capacity to 26.1 million tonnes.
