IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, has extended the lease of its Boeing 777 aircraft as part of its strategy to bolster long-haul international connectivity. The move underscores IndiGo’s intent to sustain capacity on high-demand overseas routes while awaiting deliveries from its extensive order book. By retaining the widebody jets, the airline is ensuring continuity in passenger services, particularly on sectors such as the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet is bolstering its winter flight operations by leasing five Boeing 737 aircraft, aiming to meet anticipated surge in passenger demand during the peak travel season. The additional planes will enhance the airline’s domestic and international network capacity, enabling it to operate more frequent flights on high-demand routes and introduce select new services. The move reflects SpiceJet’s strategy to strengthen its market position amid rising competition and capitalize on robust seasonal travel trends.

In a strategic bid to boost operational efficiency and expand its network, SpiceJet has finalized a lease agreement for five Boeing 737 aircraft. The move comes as the low-cost carrier seeks to regain market share, reduce operational disruptions, and address capacity shortfalls amid a gradually recovering aviation sector. With domestic and international air travel demand stabilizing, the additional aircraft are expected to enhance route reliability, improve on-time performance, and increase flight frequency across key sectors.

Boeing has appointed Stacie Sire as the new Vice President and Managing Director of the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru, succeeding Ahmed Elsherbini. In this role, Sire will oversee the center’s strategy and operations, playing a pivotal role in advancing Boeing’s goals in India. With a distinguished career at Boeing, Sire brings extensive experience in engineering and leadership. Elsherbini, who previously led BIETC, will now serve as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Boeing Global Engineering.
